MP-5/UMP/SMG Operators Course

This course is designed for tactical team members, uniformed patrol officers, investigators and military personnel that deploys a SMG carbine during the course of their duties.  This is a complete operators course that covers all aspects of SMG operations.

This course begins with solid shooting fundaments and will proceed to advance weapon procedures and shooting techniques. 

Course topics covered include:

  • Breakdown & assembly and maintenance

  • Loading, unloading, reloading and malfunctions

  • Shooting fundamentals

  • Controlled automatic fire

  • Turning and maneuvering with weapon

  • Shooting on the move

  • Weapon transition

  • Weapon retention

  • Multiple threat engagement

  • Use of cover and concealment

  • Distance shooting

  • Reactive shooting

  • CQB techniques

  • Low light operations

  • Partner/team movements

While most schools use only static paper targets, Final Option uses numerous types of target systems to help expose students to different engagement situations.  Students will also use our computer controlled reactive shooting system.  This system enables you to engage reactive targets that will increase your threat assessment, accuracy and engagement speeds to advance operating levels. 

Students progress will be monitored with specifically designed shooting drills and tests that will teach you to operate and shoot your SMG under stress fire situations.

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a course diploma and a certificate indicating their level of weapons qualification.

Students will have the opportunity to graduate from 1of 3 levels:  Basic Operator, Intermediate Operator and Advance Operator. 

Required Equipment:

2500 rounds of ammo, Mp5/UMP/SMG style weapon with 4 magazines, SMG Magazine holder/pouch , Handgun w/2 magazines and 500 rounds of handgun ammo, Tactical or duty holster for handgun, Tactical vest or body armor, Wrap around eye protection and ear protection, Ballistic helmet (if issued), Baseball style cap
